What is recorded here

Located just E of the summit of an E-W drumlin ridge. This is a grass and rush-covered circular area (int. diam.17m N-S; 16.3m E-W) defined by a grass-covered earthen bank (Wth 1.5-2.5m; int. H 0.1-0.3m; ext. H 0.7-1.2m), and a slight external fosse (Wth of base 2.5-3.5m) WSW-NW. There are entrance gaps at E (Wth 2.4m) and W (Wth 1.5m) and the perimeter is partly incorporated into a field bank E-SSE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 September 2008
