What is recorded here

Planted with coniferous trees on a S-facing, pasture slope of Glencar valley. Subcircular area (int. dims 34.5m E-W; 31m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.8m) NW-NE which is reduced to a scarp (H 1-1.4m) elsewhere. The original entrance is not identified but an oval area (dims 11m E-W; 5.5m N-S) against the inside of the bank at N is bounded by a low bank at S. A N-S field wall overlies the edge of the monument at W, and it is overgrown W of this feature. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 September 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
