What is recorded here

Located at the E edge of a broad plateau in rough pasture, and sheltering beneath rock outcrop that rises over it to the W. Two booley huts (int. dims 4.25m x 1.9m and 3.2m x 1.9m) defined by stone footings are associated with a stone-walled field, a sheepfold and two rectangular enclosures (ext. dims 5m x 4.7m; 3.7m x 3.5m) defined by grass-covered stone spreads, which might also be booley huts. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 September 2008
