The arc of an enclosure (C c. 50m NW-E) is marked on 1908 edition of the OS 6-inch map. No visible surface remains. Not marked on the 1841 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in an upland area. Archaeological monitoring was carried out in the vicinity of the monument in 2002 by Dominic Delany under licence no. 02E1192. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
