Unlocated seventeenth century settlement in Ballickmoyler which was described by Feehan as 'in the middle of the seventeenth century Ballickmoyler (Ballimoiler) was much the most considerable focus of settlement in the barony of Slewmargy, with a population of 127 families, of whom 12 were English. It remained the principal village in the barony until the end of the eighteenth century' (Feehan 1983, 374).
