Marked within N half of enclosure (LA028-060002-) on the 1908 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The castle known locally as Rathpiper, was associated with Pipard a descendant of Adam de Hereford stood here as a ruins until 1836 (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 6, 71). No visible surface remains. No upstanding remains of castle. Some rubble stone in the area.
