What is recorded here

In tillage. A roughly oval enclosure (dims. c. 59m NW-SE; c. 38m NE-SW) visible as a cropmark on Google Earth (imagery date 28 June 2018), identified and reported by Simon Dowling. The enclosure is indicated as a small field on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map and on the subsequent revision. However, the curving nature of the enclosure appears at odds with the rectilinear nature of the surround fields, and the field boundary running along the SE quadrant kinks out to incorporating the enclosure, suggesting it pre-dates the 19th-century field system. There is a large enclosure (LA025-063----) c. 200m to the NE and another (LA025-064----) c. 300m to the SE.
