Unlocated Ironworks within townland, described by Feehan in Laois an Environmental History as 'The extensive ironstone workings of the seventeenth century on the Cullenagh Hills have been swallowed up in the new forests which now clothe the hills, but those on Knockawn west of Spink can still be seen' (Feehan 1983, 352).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
