What is recorded here

Marked on the 1841 and 1909 editions of the OS 6-inch map; a roughly circular area (max. diam. c. 48m N-S) with building shown at NE. Although site was bulldozed in recent times and a modern bungalow now ocupies the greater part of it, the outline of a bank and external fosse, defined by a strong growth of nettles, is discernible running from SW-N. Tradition of a church (LA023-007002-) formerly located within interior of ringfort. Nearby graveyard (LA023-007004-) located 170m to the W of the ringfort. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
