Marked 'Grange Ho. (in Ruins) on the 1841 ed OS 6-inch map. In undulating countryside. A rectangular house (L c. 9.9m NW-SE, Wth c. 6.3m NE-SW) constructed of rubble limestone. Two storeys high with a third storey or attic in SE gable. Entrance, now blocked, in SW wall. Projecting chimney breast and tall chimney stack on NE wall and remains of a cornice. Internal dividing wall running NW-SE. Mentioned in OS letters as an old castle in ruins in the townland of Grangebeg (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, p. 15).
