What is recorded here

The files of the National Museum of Ireland records that in May 1956 human remains were discovered following a collapse at a sandpit at Kyle, near Timahoe, Co. Laois (Cahill & Sikora 2011, Vol. 2, 490). According to the workers in the sandpit, a human skull and some bones were noted, but no grave goods or structural stones were noted in the vicinity. The site was not investigated and the remains were not acquired. Compiled by Caimin O'Brien Date of upload / revision : 10 August 2012
