St Colman Ban may have founded an early church here and he is commemorated on the 19th October (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1907, vol. 1, 244-5). A late medieval nave (L c. 11.1m, Wth c. 6.6m) and chancel (L c. 6.55m, Wth c. 4.5m, wall T c. 1.4m) church built of rough limestone blocks randomly coursed. The E window has been replaced by a modern entrance. The original doorway was possibly in the S wall. Plain rectangular window in W gable. The nave and chancel are divided by a segmental rounded arch (Wth c. 2.4m) and the interior of the nave is 1.2m lower than that of the chancel. All visible headstones in surrounding irregularly shaped graveyard, postdate 1700.
