The files of the National Museum of Ireland records that in October 2000 portions of a human skull were discovered in dredged material from the river Triogue which is the boundary between the townlands of Kyletalesha and Knocknagroagh, Co. Laois (Cahill & Sikora 2011, Vol. 2, 490). The site was investigated by the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, and the Museum was not informed until after this time. A site visit was then carried out by Mary Cahill. Unfortunately the site had been heavily disturbed at this stage, and no further remains were recovered (NMI File).
