New monument uncovered during excavation by Jonathan Dempsey under licence number 03E1368 in advance of the M7 Heath-Mayfield motorway scheme. Morett 8 was a sub-oval pit which measured 1.2m N-S by 1.1m by 0.23m deep that was filled by a loose black/brown sandy clay, subangular heat fractured and fire-reddened stones. A flake of chert was recovered from this deposit (Bennett 2006, 296). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 17 December 2007
