Unlocated village within the townland of Kilmorchil mentioned in the OS letters as part of a seventeenth century land grant to Owen Mac High O'Dempsie where it describes the villages of 'Clomany and Kimorhcill'(O'Flanagan 1933, vol. ii, p. 52). There is no such townland in County Laois. Kilmorchill townland may be a reference to the townland of Kilmullen which is the adjoining townland to Clonanny (Clonmany) which would match the above historical description. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
