Enclosure around 18th century folly known as the Spire which was built on top of an earlier Windmill, the spire was built in 1779 by William Henry Damer, Viscount Carlow to give employment during a hard winter. Shown as a large circular enclosure around the folly on first edition of the OS 6-inch map. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 17 December 2007
