Discovered during test-trenching in advance of the proposed N9/N10 Waterford-Knoctopher road scheme and excavated in 2006 (Excavation licence no. E2503). The remains comprised two short square-ended ditches, a linear feature and a hearth. A date of 881+/-22 BP (AD 1047-1218) was obtained from the hearth. Two domestic implements, a stone polisher and a rubbing stone were found. These could date from the Neolithic to the early medieval period.
