On marginal land between bog to the E and rising pasture to the W. Excavated in 2007 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme (Licence no. E3629). A burnt mound (9.4m E-W; 9m N-S; D 0.33m) consisting of heat-fractured stones and charcoal-rich clay. Five shallow pits and in irregular shallow gully were sealed by the mound but they were unsubstantial and did not form any regular pattern. Charcoal from an associated post-hole returned a radiocarbon date of 1887-1751 cal BC (UBA-10987). A fulacht fia (KK031-095----) was excavated c. 50m to the NE. (Walsh 2010, 235, no. 884; Walsh and Coughlan 2011)
