What is recorded here

An irregular-shaped graveyard (dims. c. 36m E-W; c. 35m N-S at the E end of the graveyard, tapering to c. 18m at the W end) with a ruinous medieval church (KK031-004001-) along the N boundary. The surrounding field to the N is known locally as the Mass Field. The OS Letters (1839) describe, ‘A small burying ground attached’ to the medieval church (O’Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 93 (30)). Carrigan (1905, vol. 4, 39) mentions a couple of headstones in the graveyard, both of which date to the first half of the 19th century. The graveyard is enclosed by a stone wall, with gate piers at the S end of the E wall of the graveyard. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly
