On a SW-NE ridge. Described by Carrigan (1905, vol. 4, 320) as being, 'strongly built, and is evidently very old. The door and windows are destroyed,as are also the walls, except the south side-wall, which is 3½ ft. [1.06m] in thickness and still 10 ft. [3m] high. As most of the foundations have been removed, it is impossible to take measurements of this ancient temple'. Carrigan (ibid.) associates this church with 'Cooliaghnoo' or 'Cooliagh New' which he notes is to distinquish it from the neighbouring church of Coolaghmore (KK030-004001-). He refers to an entry in the Red Book of Ossory, c. 1500, where, 'the church of Cooliaghnoo appears as the "Capella de Colat," in the parish "de Kyllamery"' (ibid.).
The remaining ivy-covered wall of the church was demolished in 1973 and farm buildings, including a milking parlour and cow sheds, were erected at the location.
