On level terrain, though externally the ground slopes gently to the S towards reclaimed boggy area and rises to the W, in reclaimed, formerly rough pasture. The enclosure is quite overgrown, with trees on the bank and within the interior. It is known locally as, 'the rath'.
A roughly circular area (diam. 45m) defined by a fosse (Wth 5m; D 0.6m) and external bank (Wth at crest 1.8m; overall Wth 2.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.5m) with an entrance gap (Wth 9m) at the N. In the SSE the fosse broadens out to form a small pond. There is no evidence of an inner bank.
