In relation to Ballyduff townland, O'Kelly (1969, 74) mentions, 'Ballyduff rath [KK029-008001--] is on the hill-top and there is a large circular enclosure with an outer stone fencing'. It is not clear whether O'Kelly is describing Ballyduff rath as being a large circular enclosure with stone walling, or if he is referring to another large enclosure in this townland. The later seems unlikely as Ballyduff is a relatively small townland and there is no other enclosure indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map or the 1900 revision, nor is an enclosure visible on satellite imagery. The location of this possible enclosure within the townland is unknown. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
