What is recorded here

Moore (1849, 26-7) described this structure as consisting of a large slab approximately 3.65m square resting above a number of other smaller slabs. Based on this description it was included in Borlase's work, 'The Dolmens of Ireland' (1897, 403). A report by J. Delaney to the National Museum of Ireland in 1958 concluded that this was not likely to be the remains of a megalithic tomb (SMR files). The structure was destroyed c. 1970, with no visible remains at ground level. Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 12 May 2021

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
