Associated with the medieval church of Newtown Earley (KK027-012001-) and uncovered during a clean-up of graveyard in 1985-7 (KK027-012009-) (Harte 1987, 408-17). Currently lying within the church.
The lower portion of a tapering slab (surviving L 1.06m; Wth across mid-point 0.5m; Wth 0.39m at base) which is described by Harte (ibid. 410) as being decorated by a cross in false relief. Only the lower portion of the cross survives, consisting of a shaft which terminates in a fleur-de-lys with a knop immediately above it. The top edge of the slab is chamfered. Stylistically this graveslab dates to the 13th/14th century. (Harte 1987, 411, no. 15).
