What is recorded here

Associated with the medieval church of Newtown Earley (KK027-012001-). An irregular rectangular-shaped area (dims. c. 73m NW-SW at N; c. 64m NW-SE at S; c. 58m NNE-SSW at W; c. 43m NNE-SSW at E) enclosed by a stone wall and entered at the N end of the E side. The graveyard was subjected to a clean-up in 1985-7 and all but one of a large number of medieval graveslabs were moved from the graveyard and placed within the interior of the church, at nave end (Harte 1987, 408-17).
