Though not indicated on the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of Gowran or on the parish map of Dunbill within the barony, the terrier accompanying the parish map describes, ‘on Dunbill a water mill’ and lists ‘Earle of Ormond’ as the proprietor in 1640 (NLI MS720).
