What is recorded here

On the S side of a U-shaped E-W valley adjacent to a tributary that joins the King’s River at the village of Ennisnag. Excavated in 2007 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road improvement scheme (Licence no. E3617). A linear boundary ditch crossing the excavated area and extending beyond it at NW and SE was undated but stratigraphic relationships and the presence of iron slag within its lower fills indicate that it dates to the middle Iron Age. A metalworking site (KK023-160----) and a ring-ditch (KK023-159----) were also excavated in the same area.
