A watermill is indicated and annotated ‘a mill’ on the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of Sheelogher, ‘Sheelelogher’, in the NE portion of Burnchurch, on the W bank of the stream which flows roughly N-S (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin; http://downsurvey.tcd.ie/down-survey-maps.php#bm=Sheelogher&c=Kilkenny). The precise location of this watermill along this stretch of river is unknown.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
