According to the OS Letters (1839), ‘There is a holy well called Lady’s Well in the Townland of Ballyda, much venerated still and frequented on the 15th of August by great numbers of devotees’ (O’Flanagan 1930, vol. 1, 274 (92)). O’Kelly (1969, 180) also mentions this well, stating that it is, ‘still frequented on the 15th of August for devotional purposes’.
