Identified on an aerial photograph taken by Bord Gáis as part of the preliminary work in preparation of the Cork - Dublin gas pipeline (1981-2). A small quarry with trees around the edge is indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch, roughly in the NW quadrant of the possible enclosure. It is possible that the quarry was either larger pre-1839 or was extended and later in-filled post 1839 and pre 1947, as the 1947 revision of the 6-inch OS map shows no quarry in the field. It is possible that the enclosure identified on the Bord Gáis aerial photograph is a filled-in quarry.
