Indicated as a sub-circular enclosure on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map, with a quarry immediately N of, and extending to the edge of the monument and a narrow linear field to the NW, the S boundary of which extends westward from the NW quadrant of the enclosure. The 25-inch OS map indicates a sub-circular area (int. diam. c. 38m) enclosed by a wide outer fosse (total diam. c. 56m) with a field boundary running N-S along the outer edge of the fosse from NNE-E-SE.
