Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 439), refers to is a penal chapel which occupied the site of the present RC church across the road from the graveyard (KK022-018001-) (ibid.).The chapel was taken down in 1859 to facilitate the construction of the present church (ibid.). The chapel was likely to have been of late 17th/18th-century date.
