On the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of Gowran and the parish map of Upper Grange, a house is depicted in the SE portion of 'Castlekeily' and 'Castlekelley' respectively, which equates well with the modern townland of Castlekelly (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin). The precise location of the house within the townland is unknown. See attached: KK021-035----_01 extract from Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of ‘Gowran’ (Hib. Reg., courtesy of Trinity College Dublin) KK021-035----_02 extract from Down Survey (1655-6) parish map of ‘Upper Grange’ (Hib. Reg., courtesy of Trinity College Dublin) Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 21 April 2021

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
