In relation to Churchclara townland, Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 356) notes that, ‘An ancient house, with lofty projecting chimney, stood here, till 60 or 70 years ago, in Mr. Philip Keeffe’s farmyard’. The precise location of this house within the townland is unknown.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
