Lying on the floor in the NW angle of a 19th-century C of I church which was built on the former chancel of the 13th-century church of St Mary’s (KK020-060006-) in Gowran. The upper portion of a tapering slab (L 1.4m; Wth at top 0.52m; Wth at base 0.4m; D 0.24m) It is decorated with a four-armed cross with rounded fleur-de-lis terminals, with a smaller four-armed cross with fleur-de-lis terminals positioned diagonal to, and crossing over and under the arms of, the main cross. Beneath the cross-head there is a barred knop with rounded ends from which a stem with a fleur-de-lis terminal springs on either side of the cross-shaft. The upper edge of the slab is moulded. There is no visible inscription. Stylistically this dates to the 13th/14th century.
