At the E end of Gowran, on the S side of the Main Street. A house on the E side of ‘the lane’ leading to Gowran Castle is indicated on White’s map of 1710/11. Though the map is early 18th century in date, it is likely that the building, which no longer survives above ground, dated to, at least, the 17th century. It appears to have been located between the present 19th-century gate lodge and the court house.
