According to O'Kelly (1985, 66), Abbeygrove townland was, 'formerly part of Dunbell which was Jerpoint Abbey lands. The dwelling house of the O'Neill family here is believed to have been a chapel belonging to the Jerpoint monks'. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 10 December 2020
