What is recorded here

Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (overall diam. c. 42m). On the 1900 revision of this map the W portion is outlined but the monument itself appears to have been levelled. It is not visible on Digitalglobe satellite imagery (viewed 9 November 2020). According to Doyle (1981, unpublished) this was a rath which is, 'no longer there. It is said that it was about thirty yards [c. 27m] wide, with a shallow trench surrounding'. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
