According to Hogan (1860-1, 374) Castle Bamford (KK019-030001-) 'stood on the brow of the ancient road' and traces of the road led to the back of the castle, 'where it is open as an entrance to the farmyard'. The precise location and extent of this roadway are unknown.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
