What is recorded here

In St Francis' Abbey (KK019-026101-). Portion of a limestone graveslab (L 0.4m; Wth 0.31m; D 0.13m) with one side, which is chamfered, surviving. It was probably decorated with an incised floriated cross, though only a length of the incised cross-shaft survives. There is a faint incised letter ‘A’ in Lombaric script between the cross-shaft and the broken edge, no other lettering is visible (Duffy 2025, no. 18). The chamfer was dressed with diagonal tooling using a claw chisel (ibid.).   Compiled by: Jean Farrelly
