Originally from St Selskar's church (WX037-032009-) in Wexford. Currently in the OPW store, Kilkenny (Kilkenny depot stone carving number: KD008). A granite carved head (L 0.27m; Wth 0.23m; D 0.12m) in low relief. Carved in high relief, face appears to be male, large recessed almost round eyes within oval eye sockets. Large pronounced nose, widening towards the nostrils, pronounced cheek and open horizontal mouth, possibly with a short tongue protruding. The curving chin has a smaller curving projection on either side, perhaps suggesting a beard. The hair is dramatic, with five deep vertical incisions.
