Late 12th-century post-and-wattle house (L c. 8m x Wth. c. 2.5m) tentatively identified as Wallace Type 1 excavated (02E1592) by Ian Doyle on the N bank of the River Breagagh, Irishtown, 40m NW of the Irishtown Gate (KK019-026001-) on the town wall (Doyle 2004, 278; 2004 unpublished, 20-22; Doyle 2006, 266-8). A post-and-wattle riverside fence (L 8m x H 0.2m) formed the S wall of the house and delimited a series of internal organic clay floor surfaces. The structure was succeeded by a second timber building (KK019-026275-) and series of riverside reclamation structures (KK019-026245-).
