Series of revetments for reclamation on the N bank of the River Breagagh, Irishtown, 40m NW of the site of the Irishtown Gate (KK019-026001-) on the town wall, excavated (02E1592) by Ian Doyle (Doyle 2004, 278; 2004, unpublished, 20-22; Doyle 2006, 266-8). A post-and-wattle riverside fence succeeded by a 13th century masonry revetment wall (L 5.23m x Wth. 1.05m x H 0.6m) and timber revetment that included an oak baseplate which was a reused roof-timber dated by dendrochronology to AD 1177-8 (Doyle 2004, unpublished, 24). Revetment ran adjacent to medieval timber houses (KK019-026275-) and (KK019-026278-).
