What is recorded here

At the rear of 73 High Street and 36-7 St Kieran's Street there are the remains of late 16th/early 17th century building, only a small portion of the S wall (L c. 2m) of which is visible in the N wall of the yard of 38 St Kieran's Street. It is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble and within it there is a flat-headed blocked-up window, which is slightly longer than the width. The window has cut limestone surrounds but is not chamfered externally. More fabric of this early modern building is likely to be incorporated in the building which currently occupies 73 High St and extends back to 36-7 St Kieran's St. See attached photograph: KK019-026244-_01 by Cóilín Ó Drisceoil Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 29 August 2022
