Prendergast (1977, 267), recording newly identified fulachta fia in Kilkenny mentions, 'Further sites have been reported...in Shankill at Cranmore and Blackacre (sheet 16)'. Cranmore may be Cranroe which is a house at the N portion of Shankill townland. The prescise location of these fulachta fia is unknown.
