According to Doyle (1981), 'There is a field in Greenridge (near Brownstown and Sandfordscourt) called the "Rath field". All this area is very flat and was once a marsh. There was once a rath there. It was removed about thirty years ago. Its seems safe to assume that it was not a very big rath. This rath was near a stream'. The precise location of this monument within Greenridge townland is unknown.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
