What is recorded here

Carrigan (1905, 466) records an ancient church site called 'Rillig' and the discovery of human bones (KK014-082002-/KK015-034002*) in the 'Rillig Field'. The monument was visible as a slight, overgrown mound in 1905. It was not visible at ground level when visited in 1987 and the precise location of this monument within the townland could not be determined. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 14 March 2016

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
