What is recorded here

On gently sloping land above a steep-sided river valley which lies to the E and S. There are very good views to the E and S. According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 464) this was formerly the parish church of Kilmadum. A rectangular church (L 18m; W 8m), aligned E-W, with largely only the footings remaining. These consist of grass-covered stone walls (Wth 1.5m; H c. 0.3-0.4m), except at the SE corner where the wall, of roughly coursed limestone rubble, stands to a height of c. 2m. The church is within an irregularly shaped graveyard (KK014-020002-). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 13 May 2020
