On a high gravel bluff at a bend in the Dinin River, on the W bank. There are good views across the valley in all directions. The church (KK014-013001-) is depicted on the Down Survey (1655-6) parish map of 'Mayne' (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin). According to the OS Letters (1839), 'the east gable of Teampall Maon stood on the northern bank of the Dinan River, in the Townland of Jenkinstown (alias Corcalagh) until four years ago [1835], it was swept away with a large portion of the graveyard by the force of one of the mountain torrents of the above river' (O'Flanagan ed. 1930, vol. 1, 22-3 (8)). All that remains of the graveyard is a narrow strip (dims. c. 60m NE-SW; c. 10-17m NW-SE) with parts of the S and W boundary wall still intact. The visible graveslabs appear to be 19th-century in date.
