According to Carrigan (1905, 3, 497), an ancient road, known as 'Boher-kierawin, or St. Kieran's Road, ran from Fertagh, by Borrismore; thence, by Adamstown rath; through Ballintarsna, where part of it is still pointed out; by Rathealy Church'. The precise location of this road is unknown.
